The LNG tanker 'Cesi Gladstone' encountered severe challenges while navigating the Solomon Sea after departing from Gladstone on June 18, 2018, bound for Beihai with an estimated arrival on July 3. On June 21, the vessel was rendered disabled and was subsequently classified as Not Under Command (NUC). Fortunately, assistance was provided by the tug 'Pacific Salvor' (IMO: 8209339) on June 24. The towage commenced off the southern coast of New Britain, with 'Pacific Salvor' guiding 'Cesi Gladstone' at a steady speed of 2.5 knots towards Rabaul. By June 27, 'Cesi Gladstone' successfully reached the port of Rabaul, where it is scheduled to undergo necessary repairs.
