On January 11, 2020, the Indonesian authorities took action against the bulk carrier 'CH Bella' after it was found anchored unauthorized in the waters northwest of Bintan Island. The vessel had anchored on January 9, soon after departing from Singapore, and was reported to have breached the country's maritime borders by sailing into restricted territorial waters. The ship’s crew faced movement restrictions and were confined on board while ensure that essential supplies, including food and water, were provided regularly. As of January 16, the 'CH Bella' continued to remain at anchor off Tanjung Uban, specifically positioned at 01° 6.11' N latitude and 104° 11.14' E longitude.
