The bulk carrier 'Common Calypso' has successfully arrived off the coast of Chattogram on February 12, 2026, following a challenging maritime rescue operation. The vessel faced significant difficulties after experiencing a main engine malfunction on January 11 while traversing the Indian Ocean. At the time, the 'Common Calypso' was sailing from Santos, Brazil, carrying a valuable cargo of soya beans. On January 15, the salvage experts from Tsavliris intervened, taking the drifting bulk carrier into tow, as it was found approximately 10 nautical miles east of the Solomon Islands. As of March 2, the vessel was securely anchored at coordinates 22° 16' N 091° 42' E, maintaining a stationary position in preparation for further assessments and repairs.
