On October 17, 2014, the cargo vessel 'Rider', traveling from Malmö to Belfast, encountered an engine malfunction in the Kiel Canal, specifically near Fischerhütte. Following the incident, 'Rider' was forced to anchor unexpectedly close to the northern bank at the Grünental Bridge.
