Farewell Star Fuji as We Welcome Star Damon to Our Fleet

Aug 29, 2019 11:10

On August 20th, we proudly added a new vessel to our fleet, the Star Damon, a modern supramax ship designed to enhance our operations. This significant update coincided with the retirement of our long-serving open hatch vessel, the Star Fuji, which we bid farewell to just a day later. On August 21st, we officially handed over the 34-year-old Star Fuji for recycling at Leyal Ship Recycling in Aliağa, located near Izmir, Turkey. This yard is well-known to us, as it was the same facility that handled the recycling of our previous vessel, Star Gran, back in February. It’s a bittersweet moment as we take this step forward in our fleet’s evolution.
