The vessel 'Danny Boy' faced serious repercussions during its recent stopover in Antalya on December 25, 2018. The local municipality's environmental pollution prevention department imposed a significant pollution fine due to violations of local regulations aligned with MARPOL standards. Following the incident, an investigation was initiated by the local authorities, which confirmed that the ship had improperly discharged dirty ballast water. Consequently, the vessel incurred a hefty fine totaling $112,500. Furthermore, the port master revoked the ship's departure permission until the fine, alongside required cleaning expenses, was settled.
