On February 11, 2023, the KMP 'Dharma Rucitra I', operating a route from Surabaya to Trisakti Port in Banjarmasin, was involved in a collision with the barge 'Butun'. The incident occurred at the entrance of the Barito River, situated within the South Kalimantan province's territorial waters during the afternoon hours. The barge, which was under tow by the tug 'MBP 2202' (IMO: 9953602), was carrying a load of coal at the time of the accident. Fortunately, the ferry sustained damage primarily to its bow on the port side but managed to reach Trisakti Port safely without any reported injuries.
