On October 14, 2024, the Port Authority of Pythagoras received reports of a mechanical issue involving the ferry 'Dodekanisos Pride', which was en route to the port of Fourni. The vessel encountered a malfunction with its starboard side main engine, prompting an emergency return to Pythagoreion. Strong winds in the region complicated the docking process, necessitating support from a Greek Coast Guard patrol vessel and several private boats to ensure safe berthing at the port. Fortunately, all 27 passengers were safely disembarked. However, during the docking maneuvers, one crew member sustained a hand injury and was quickly transported to the General Hospital of Samos for treatment. Following a preliminary investigation by the 1st Port Department of Pythagoras, the ship has been prohibited from resuming operations until repairs are made and a class maintenance certificate is obtained from the attending classification society. The ferry successfully departed the port again at 8:30 p.m. UTC, now bound for Rhodes. Thankfully, no marine pollution occurred as a result of the incident, and the ferry company ensured that passengers were taken care of during this disruption.

On July 3, 2016, the catamaran ferry 'Dodekanisos Pride' encountered significant engine troubles while navigating its route from Samos to Fournoi, Ikaria, Patmos, Lipsi, Leros, Kalymnos, and Kos. Shortly after departing from Ikaria, issues arose in the control of the port side engine. The vessel successfully reached Pythagorean Harbor at 11:30 a.m., where 73 passengers safely disembarked. Alternative transportation was arranged to ensure that passengers continued to their destinations without further delay. In response to the incident, the Pythagorean Port Department has prohibited the catamaran from further voyages until essential repairs are completed and verified by classification societies as safe for operations. Despite this setback, the catamaran was expected to resume its schedule, with an updated arrival time in Kos set for 1:50 p.m. on July 4.
