Tugs Rescue Onozuru Maru After Mooring Ropes Fail
On December 10, 2019, a maritime incident occurred involving the bulk carrier 'Onozuru Maru' when its mooring ropes failed, putting the vessel in a precarious situation. Immediately responding to the emergency, tugs were dispatched to regain control of the ship. A Lloyd’s Open Form (LOF) agreement was established with esteemed salvage companies Multraship Salvage BV and Boluda Towage Rotterdam BV to manage the operation. Following the successful securing of the vessel, the 'Onozuru Maru' departed from Rotterdam on December 16 at 9 a.m., setting its course for Seven Islands, with an estimated arrival date of January 2, 2010.
