Eastern-Bund Vessel Reviews and Specifications

On October 4, 2018, the bulk carrier Eastern Bund experienced a critical blackout while navigating the Suez Canal, causing it to run aground while heading south toward Sokhna. This incident resulted in the vessel's hull being breached during the grounding; however, the design of the double bottom effectively prevented any water from entering the ship. Following the grounding, the vessel was successfully towed to Suez by the tugboats Mosaheb 2 (IMO: 9544906) and Mosaed 3 (MMSI: 622123999). The Eastern Bund was subsequently moored at the Suez South Anchorage in the early hours of October 5.
