On July 11, 2024, at approximately 9:40 a.m., a startling explosion erupted aboard the Eiyu Maru No. 10, which was docked at a cement factory pier in Kanda, Fukuoka. Responding swiftly to the emergency, the local Fire Department was summoned by personnel from UBE Mitsubishi Cement Kyushu. Seven individuals, present either on the vessel or at the pier, sustained varying degrees of burns and were promptly transported to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, none of the injured parties face life-threatening conditions, although three individuals remain in serious condition.
