On December 26, 2023, the vessel 'Elena,' currently undergoing repairs at Trioli, encountered a significant setback when a fire erupted in its wheelhouse due to an electrical short circuit. The blaze resulted in the destruction of vital wheelhouse equipment and three cabins located beneath the wheelhouse. Fortunately, the swift response from the Tripoli Port fire brigade ensured that the fire was contained and extinguished without incident. Remarkably, there were no reported injuries or environmental pollution stemming from the incident.

On September 4, 2015, the M/V 'KO LANTA' (IMO number 7406772) faced detention in Cartagena, Spain. This incident marks the vessel's third detention within the Paris MoU region over the past 36 months. Registered under the flag of Sierra Leone, which currently appears on the Paris MoU's black list, the ship is now subjected to restrictions that prohibit access to all ports and anchorages in the region, except for those in its flag state. The ban on access will take effect immediately after the vessel is permitted to depart from its current location. As this constitutes the first refusal of access order for the M/V 'KO LANTA', the duration of this restriction will be set for three months.

On February 8, 2013, a maritime incident occurred off the coast of Istanbul when the cargo ship "Alaa 1," which was anchored and traveling from Constanta to Sete, was struck by the Turkish bunker tanker "Ondina."
