On September 10, 2019, at approximately 7:20 PM, a devastating maritime incident occurred in the waters off Belawan, North Sumatra, involving the mooring vessel 'PMB VI', owned by Pertamina's Marketing Operation Region (MOR) I. The 'PMB VI' succumbed to fierce waves driven by adverse weather conditions near Pertamina's Fuel Oil Terminal. Unfortunately, the tragedy unfolded as the vessel, which had four crew members aboard, was completing cargo unloading operations with the tanker 'Enduro'. Just as the 'PMB VI' was preparing to depart from the tanker, violent weather conditions abruptly arose, causing it to crash into the 'Enduro' and subsequently capsize. While three crew members managed to escape into the water, the captain, Rudi Prayoga, 52, from Medan City, was tragically trapped inside the sinking vessel and lost his life.
