On July 23, 2021, the Lefkada Port Authority received an urgent alert regarding the 'Eptanisos,' a ferry carrying seven crew members and 330 passengers, which encountered significant rudder damage one nautical mile north of Fiskardo, located on Cephalonia island. In a swift response, three patrol boats raced to the scene to assist, while the ferry 'Macedonia Palace' was diverted to provide towing support for the disabled vessel. Following the incident, the 'Eptanisos' was safely towed to the port of Nydri, Lefkada. The Port Authority of Lefkada is currently conducting a thorough preliminary investigation into the incident and has issued a sailing ban for the ferry until all repairs are completed and a valid certificate of seaworthiness is obtained.

On the afternoon of July 10, 2019, the Greek ferry "Eptanisos," carrying 490 passengers, encountered mechanical issues while navigating near Scorpios Island. Fortunately, the nearby ferry "Nydri Star" swiftly came to the rescue. It towed the Eptanisos securely back to Nydri's port. Following the incident, the Nydri Port Authority initiated a preliminary investigation and held the vessel until the necessary repairs were completed and a seaworthiness certificate was granted, ensuring the safety of future voyages.
