On April 27, 2026, the NSSR lifeboat 'Erling Skjalgsson' based in Farsund came to the aid of the cargo ship 'Famita', which found itself grounded at Hausvik in Rosfjorden. The incident occurred in the evening as the 'Famita' was making its journey from Mandal to Copenhagen. Thanks to the swift response of the NSSR crew, the vessel was successfully freed from the grounding and escorted safely to port. On the evening of December 23, 2017, at approximately 10 p.m., the MV Famita experienced a grounding incident while maneuvering to enter Svendborg's port. The unfortunate event was attributed to a combination of mechanical failure and adverse weather conditions, specifically strong winds. Fortunately, the vessel was successfully refloated by tug assistance just a few hours later, around 2 a.m. on December 24. Following the refloating, the Famita was safely secured at Østre Quay by 2:30 a.m. The ship had previously arrived in Svendborg from Hausvig. After completing necessary surveys and unloading operations, the Famita departed the port once again on December 25 at 5:40 p.m., charting a course for Mandal, with an estimated time of arrival on December 27.
