On the evening of June 15, 2022, the Port Authority of Igoumenitsa received reports regarding an incident involving a crew member aboard the vessel 'Florencia.' While the ship was being moored at the port, the crew member lost his footing on the ramp, resulting in a fall. The unfortunate incident led to an injury to the back of his head. Emergency services quickly transported him via ambulance to the local emergency department for immediate medical attention. Fortunately, after receiving the necessary first aid, the crew member was able to resume his regular duties. In light of the incident, the Central Port Authority of Igoumenitsa has initiated a preliminary investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding the accident.

On December 8, 2019, the ferry 'Florencia' experienced a significant engine failure affecting its starboard side while on a scheduled route from Brindisi to Igoumenitsa and Patras. With 241 passengers, 53 crew members, and a cargo load that included 45 trucks and 121 vehicles, the vessel managed to navigate at a reduced speed to reach the port of Igoumenitsa, arriving safely at 6:40 a.m. Following standard protocol, the Central Port Authority of Igoumenitsa issued a ban on the ferry’s departure until further notice. After necessary repairs and the presentation of a seaworthiness certificate from the monitoring classification society, the 'Florencia' was cleared for departure. The ferry set sail once again from Igoumenitsa at 11:45 p.m. and is expected to arrive back in Brindisi by 9:50 a.m. on December 9.

On July 14, 2019, the captain of the ferry 'Florencia', which was en route from Igoumenitsa to Patras carrying 155 passengers and 99 vehicles, reported an issue with one of its two main engines. The crew did not seek external assistance but navigated the vessel to Patras at a reduced speed, with support from the service vessel 'Proteas'. The ferry successfully docked at 7 p.m., where all passengers disembarked safely. Following a preliminary investigation, the Port Authority of Patras detained the 'Florencia' until necessary repairs were made and a maintenance certificate was obtained from the classification society. The ferry was cleared to set sail again on July 15 at 1 a.m.
