On October 12, 2024, the 'Flying Cat 5' experienced a significant mechanical issue with its starboard side main engine while departing from the bustling port of Piraeus. The captain promptly alerted the Port Authority of Argosaronicos about the incident as the vessel was navigating its scheduled route, which included stops at Porto Helio, Spetses, Ermioni, Hydra, and, returning to Piraeus. With 141 passengers on board, the catamaran managed to continue under its own power back to Piraeus, where all passengers were safely disembarked. Following the incident, the Argosaronico Port Authority prohibited the catamaran from sailing again until necessary repairs are made and a maintenance certificate is submitted by the overseeing classification society.

On October 6, 2021, the Port Authority of Ermioni received a crucial notification from the captain of the hydrofoil 'Flying Cat 5'. The vessel encountered a significant issue with its starboard side main engine while traveling from Spetses to Ermioni. Thankfully, the ship managed to reach Ermioni safely, carrying eight passengers on board, while an additional 20 individuals awaited their transfer at the port. The ship-owning company promptly arranged alternate transport for these passengers to ensure they reached their intended destination without further delay. In light of the incident, the Port Authority of Nafplio promptly issued a ban on the hydrofoil's operations until it could provide an official seaworthiness certificate from the overseeing classification society. Once the necessary documentation was secured, the 'Flying Cat 5' was permitted to set sail for a trip without passengers to Piraeus for essential repairs. The hydrofoil departed again on October 7 at 5 p.m., signaling a return to service following the engine repair.
