On the evening of January 25, 2023, at approximately 8:40 p.m., the vessel 'Fokko Ukena', while navigating from Le Legue to Teignmouth, encountered an unfortunate incident in Teignmouth Harbour. This occurred at coordinates 50°32'46.0" N, 003°30'15.0" W when the ship was being towed by ropes. During this maneuver, 'Fokko Ukena' struck four nearby pleasure boats, leading to the sinking of an 18-foot vessel and damage to three additional boats and their moorings. In response, Associated British Ports collaborated with the Teignmouth Harbour Commission to safely relocate 'Fokko Ukena' back to the quayside with the aid of a port tug. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries related to this incident, and a thorough investigation is currently underway to determine the causes and circumstances surrounding the allision.
