Seatankers Expands Fleet with Delivery of Third ULSTEIN-Designed PSV 'Sea Forth'

Aug 21, 2013 16:54

Seatankers has proudly taken delivery of its latest platform supply vessel (PSV), 'Sea Forth', marking the third vessel in the PX105 series designed by ULSTEIN. The handover occurred on 16 August 2013, at the Zhejiang shipyard in Ningbo, as detailed in a recent press release from the company. In total, ULSTEIN is set to provide twelve comprehensive design and equipment packages to the Chinese facility, which will be the primary site for constructing all vessels for the Seatankers Group. Each package includes essential elements such as design, engineering, and equipment supplies, ensuring top-quality standards throughout the build process. 'Sea Forth' is engineered to meet the DNV requirements for Clean or Clean Design standards, demonstrating a commitment to environmental compliance. Notably, the vessel features ULSTEIN’s innovative X-BOW® hull design, which not only reduces vibration for enhanced crew comfort but also prevents speed losses that typically arise from bow wave impacts. This advanced design enables the PSV to maintain higher speeds, even in challenging weather conditions, thereby significantly expanding its operational capabilities.
