Cargo Vessel Collision in Reydarfjordur: What Happened with Amis Hero and Frigg W
On April 29, 2019, at approximately 6:40 p.m., the cargo ship m/v 'Amis Hero', which had set sail from Bunbury, experienced a mishap in Reydarfjordur. The vessel collided with the stern of the 'Frigg W' while it was in the process of berthing at the quay of the Alcoa Fjardaal Aluminium Plant. The incident occurred as the bow of 'Amis Hero' struck the already docked 'Frigg W'. The 'Frigg W', which had departed from Rotterdam on April 25, had successfully reached Reydarfjordur earlier that day at 9 a.m. After a brief stay, the 'Frigg W' continued its journey, leaving Reydarfjordur once again on May 2 at 1:15 a.m., set to return to Rotterdam with an estimated arrival on May 5.
