Bulk Carrier 'Frontier Jacaranda' Successfully Rescues Distressed Yachtsman in North Atlantic
On January 18, 2019, the bulk carrier 'Frontier Jacaranda' came to the aid of a distressed single-handed sailor in the North Atlantic while on its way from Itaqi to the bustling port of Rotterdam. Responding to a distress call relayed by the UK’s Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre, the crew swiftly altered their course to the designated location to assist the stranded British yachtsman. Fortunately, upon rescue, the sailor was found to be in good health. Following the successful operation, he was safely delivered to the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) in the Republic of Cabo Verde two days later, on January 20. After completing the humanitarian mission, the 'Frontier Jacaranda' continued its journey, arriving at the EECV Europoort Terminal in Rotterdam on February 2.
