Working Conditions Aboard the Frontier-Zone

In a significant development for the maritime sector, Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu), Inc. celebrated the naming and delivery of the 180,000 deadweight ton (dwt) capesize vessel, Frontier Zone, on January 20. This marked the third ship launched from the Cebu yard in just January alone, following the successful delivery of the largest vessel ever constructed at this facility nine days prior. Looking ahead, Tsuneishi Cebu has ambitious plans for 2023, aiming to deliver a total of 20 vessels. The lineup includes two capesizes, 11 kamsarmaxes, six handymaxes, and one 45,000 dwt bulk carrier. As a key player in Japan’s Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Group, which secured 60 ship orders in the previous year, the Cebu shipyard is ready to manage around 50% of these orders with deliveries expected to stretch through to 2017.
