Working Conditions Aboard the Froya

On April 15, 2026, a maritime incident occurred in Maløy involving the ferry 'Frøya', which was on its journey from Bergen with 20 passengers and five crew members aboard. While attempting to dock at the quay, the ferry inadvertently struck a corner of the structure. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among those on board. However, the vessel sustained a significant breach approximately 3.5 meters long on the starboard side hull above the waterline, alongside minor damage to the quay itself. Following the collision, the ferry remained sidelined for assessment.
