On December 13, 2019, at approximately 5:30 a.m., the oil tanker 'Nijinsky' found itself in a precarious situation while berthed at No. 37/2 in Algiers. Three individuals attempted to illegally board the vessel using the forward mooring lines while it was actively discharging cargo. Promptly raising the alarm, the crew's swift action led to the swift retreat of the intruders, who managed to escape the scene. Following the alert, the crew undertook a comprehensive stowaway search to ensure the safety and security of the ship, confirming no unauthorized personnel remained on board. This security breach was subsequently reported to the Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO), who promptly boarded the Nijinsky to assess the situation and ensure ongoing safety measures were in place.
