GasLog Ltd. has officially taken delivery of its latest LNG carrier, the GasLog Sydney, from Samsung Heavy Industries. This significant delivery was completed both on budget and ahead of the projected schedule, as highlighted in the company's recent press release. Following its delivery, the GasLog Sydney immediately began a medium-term charter with Methane Services Ltd., a subsidiary of the BG Group. The new vessel features a design capacity of 155,000 cubic meters and operates as a tri-fuel Diesel Electric LNG carrier. It is set to revolutionize standards for both efficiency and environmental stewardship in the shipping industry. Notably, the GasLog Sydney has earned the ABS ENVIRO+ notation, which signifies its advanced level of commitment to environmental protection and energy conservation. Equipped with innovative cargo compressors, the GasLog Sydney is specifically designed to minimize greenhouse gas emissions while enhancing the management of its cargo and heel. The operations of the vessel will be managed by GasLog LNG Services Ltd., adhering to their rigorous Marine Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental & Energy Management system. This management system, certified by ABS, is compliant with ISO50001 as of December. Looking ahead, GasLog has more exciting developments on the horizon, with two additional LNG carriers slated for delivery later this year, followed by two more in 2014, one in 2015, and two in 2016.
