Kyokuyo Shipyard Celebrates Delivery of New LNG Carrier Gas Hagi
On September 14, Kyokuyo Shipyard marked a significant milestone with the christening and delivery of its latest LNG carrier, Gas Hagi, designated as S-504. This 7,200m3 liquefied gas carrier is the last vessel in a series of three ships commissioned by Japan's Toda Ship. The earlier two sisters have already embarked on their maiden voyages, as highlighted in earlier news reports 121 and 123. A representative from Kyokuyo Shipyard expressed a mix of pride and nostalgia, stating, "Each time we launch a new ship, especially the last in a series, it evokes sentimental feelings for us. This occasion is particularly special since we have not constructed many LPG carriers in recent years. In fact, the gas sisters are our first since the production of the m.t. Tamara back in 2002," according to a company press release.
