On October 2, 2014, at approximately 9:25 a.m., the Bahama-flagged vessel, Bomar Moon, encountered a significant engine failure while navigating the Köhlbrand in Hamburg. The incident occurred as the ship was en route from an oil facility located in the Neuhöfer Canal to Immingham. Amidst the blackout, the vessel drifted dangerously close to the shore, prompting the ship's master to promptly drop anchor. However, despite these efforts, Bomar Moon touched bottom. Fortunately, the tugboat Wilhelmine, which was actively monitoring the situation, managed to successfully refloat the ship. Following the incident, Bomar Moon was escorted to berth 1 at Steinwerder by police boats WS 2 and WS 25 for further inspection. The vessel was subsequently detained, and diving teams were dispatched to examine the hull for any potential damage.

The vessel "Stella Moon" (IMO: 9390393) has recently been sold at auction in Singapore, following mounting pressure from Nova Bank, the company's financial backer. The ship garnered a sale price of $24.4 million, a figure that falls significantly below half of its construction cost. Originally, Stella Shipping, the vessel's owner, was a client of Fionia; however, due to the bank's collapse, ownership was shifted to Novabank Fyn, which operates under the auspices of the state settlement bank, Finansiel Stabilitet.
