The situation aboard the 'Izumo', a cargo ship laden with steel coils, belts, and various other goods, has been successfully managed following a fire incident at the outer anchorage of Chittagong. Prompt response efforts on July 2 involved the port's fire trucks alongside tugs 'Kandari 7' and 'Kandari 12'. The vessel had previously arrived from Shanghai on June 28 and was observed moored at coordinates 22° 8.75' N 091° 47.07' E as of July 3.

On July 1, 2020, a fire erupted on the cargo ship 'Izumo' while it was docked in Chittagong. The vessel had arrived from Shanghai, carrying a load of construction materials, and berthed at approximately 03:45 a.m. Amid the emergency, multiple fire engines and a dedicated tug were engaged to combat the blaze. Despite efforts, the 'Izumo' unmoored at 1 p.m. and proceeded downstream using its own power while flames continued to rage. The ship ultimately dropped anchor again at 5 p.m. Authorities have stated that the 'Izumo' will not be permitted to return to port until the fire is fully extinguished.

In a significant development regarding the hit-and-run incident off the Kozhikode coast that occurred on January 16, representatives from NYK Hinode Line Ltd. and multiple fishing unions have finalized a compensation agreement. This settlement was achieved during a meeting held on January 24 at the office of former state industries minister Elamaram Kareem in Kozhikode. According to the terms, the owners of the vessel 'Izumo' will compensate the three fishermen, who narrowly escaped injury when their fishing boat, 'Al Ameen', was struck, with a total of Rs. 19.5 lakh. Following this agreement, the fishermen have agreed to withdraw their complaint against NYK Hinode Line Ltd., Tokyo, at the coastal police station in nearby Beypore.
