Bulk Carrier Incident Near Kanmon Bridge: Glorious Future Sustains Damage
On February 21, 2015, at approximately 4:30 a.m., the bulk carrier 'Glorious Future' encountered a bottom touch while navigating 1.5 miles off the Kanmon Bridge in the Shimonoseki Strait. The vessel was making its way to Fukuyama in Hiroshima Prefecture, carrying a substantial 20,009 tons of bulk cargo. Unfortunately, during this incident, one of the bottom tanks suffered damage and subsequently flooded. The 'Glorious Future' was later anchored east of Shimonoseki in the Inner Japan Sea as authorities assessed the situation.
