The iconic vessel, previously known as the 'C Ladybug,' has officially changed hands following a bankruptcy auction held this week in Antwerp. After sitting idle since March 2013, the ship was acquired by Glovis for an impressive 53.6 million Euros. Formerly owned by Taiwan Maritime Transportation, the ship was seized due to the owner's inability to settle their debts with creditors. Following the sale, the vessel has been rebranded as 'Glovis Solomon,' marking a new chapter in its maritime journey.

On January 29, 2014, the car carrier 'Ladybug C' was relocated from the Deurganck dock in Antwerp to a more secure location in the Fifth Haven dock, adjacent to the Oosterweel Bridge. This move by the Port Authority comes after the vessel had been adrift on two occasions during severe storms. The 'Ladybug C' will remain behind the locks, ensuring it is sheltered from tidal influences, until the ongoing legal matters with the Taiwanese shipping firm TMT are resolved.

On January 3, 2014, the 'C. Ladybug' found itself adrift once again, experiencing a harrowing situation as it broke free during a fierce storm producing gusts of up to 125 km/h in the Deurganck dock, Antwerp, at approximately 4:25 PM. Fortunately, two resourceful tugs were able to intervene quickly, bringing the vessel under control within the confines of the dock. As conditions improved and the winds calmed, plans were made to safely return the ship to its designated berth.
