On June 27, 2026, the Superfast V ferry, which operates between Venice and Patras, was docked in Kostrena following damage to its propeller shaft. This scheduled stop came after a dry dock visit aimed at addressing the repairs needed for the vessel. As a result of this incident, all ferry services connecting Venice and Patras were temporarily suspended. Upon further inspection, it was revealed that the problem was more severe than initially assessed. Consequently, the ferry Lefka Ori has stepped in to manage the ferry routes between the two cities until the end of July.
