On August 17, 2017, a dramatic medical evacuation took place when a 29-year-old crew member aboard the cargo vessel 'Golden Brilliant' sustained a shoulder injury while the ship was anchored at coordinates 51.54.20º North and 003.41.48º East, approximately four nautical miles off the Goeree coast. The urgent situation prompted a response from KNRM, with the lifeboat 'Jeanine Parqui' arriving on the scene at 7:05 PM to transfer the injured sailor. By 8 PM, he was safely transported to medical professionals at Berghaven in Rotterdam before being rushed to the Erasmus Medical Center for comprehensive care.
