In a significant expansion move, Golden Ocean Group Limited has welcomed the newest addition to its fleet, the dry bulk ship originally named Q Kennedy, now set to be known as Golden Kennedy. This vessel marks the third delivery in a series of 16 dry bulk ships recently acquired by Golden Ocean through an all-share transaction. As part of this deal, the company has allocated a total of 17.8 million consideration shares. Specifically, Golden Ocean has issued 1.7 million of these consideration shares to Quintana Shipping Ltd. and affiliated companies, trading in return for the Q Kennedy. With this transaction completed, Golden Ocean's issued share capital now totals $5,893,649.60, which is spread across 117,872,992 shares, each possessing a nominal value of $0.05. This strategic acquisition aligns with Golden Ocean's growth objectives in the maritime sector.
