Multiple Vessels Trapped in Ice along the Northern Sea Route
A significant number of vessels have become trapped in ice along the Northern Sea Route, with many relying on icebreaker support to navigate the treacherous conditions. Among them, the 'Nordic Quinngua,' making its way from Milne Inlet to Nakhodka, along with the 'Golden Pearl' from Murmansk to Lanshan, and the 'UHL Fusion' traveling from Esbjerg to Vladivostok, received guidance through the Laptev Sea by the nuclear icebreaker 'Taymyr.' Meanwhile, the bulk carriers 'Nordic Nuluujaak,' also en route from Milne Inlet to Nakhodka, and the 'Golden Suek,' destined for China from Murmansk, remain immobilized, awaiting assistance in the East Siberian Sea. Additionally, the 'Poolgracht,' sailing from Dongjing to Gydan, as well as the 'UHL Faith' heading from Taicang to Hamburg and the 'UHL Flash' making its way to Rotterdam, are stuck in the Vil'kitskogo Strait and Laptev Sea respectively. Furthermore, approximately a dozen Russian cargo ships are positioned along the route, either seeking icebreaker aid or attempting to maneuver through the congested ice floes.
