The vessel's journey spanned from Santa Marta to Singapore before reaching Korea. However, the routine trade took a dramatic turn when Korean Customs authorities acted on a tip-off from the US Coast Guard, who had received intelligence regarding a cargo of cocaine en route to Korea. Following an intensive search, customs officials discovered four bags containing a total of 100 kilograms of cocaine cleverly concealed in a hidden compartment within the foreship, separate from the main cargo hold. As a result, all Filipino crew members aboard are currently under investigation, and the 'Golden Savannah' remains docked at the Taean Thermal Plant as of August 29, 2019.

A recent charter arrangement has been successfully finalized, featuring a delivery date set for July or August in China. The agreement spans a duration of 11 to 13 months and is pegged at 119% of the Cape 5TCA rate. This significant deal marks a notable collaboration with Glencore, showcasing the ongoing demand in maritime trading.
