Product Tanker Collision in Kaohsiung Port
On July 21, 2023, at 11:05 AM LT, the product tanker 'Hua Yun' (IMO: 9566344) was involved in a collision with the berthed vessel 'Green Jade' (IMO: 9915038) at the Kaohsiung port. The incident occurred as the 'Hua Yun' attempted a turning maneuver and, despite the assistance of tugboats, made contact with the starboard side of the 'Green Jade' using its port side stern. Both vessels sustained damages that included dents and broken railings above the waterline. Following the incident, the 'Hua Yun' proceeded to berth at the Dalin Refinery in berth 4.
