On September 14, 2011, the post-Panamax carrier 'RDB Ocean of Joy' encountered trouble after running aground in the Port of Rio de Janeiro. The vessel was en route from the Port of Tubarao, located northeast of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil's Espirito Santo state. Fortunately, tugs and support vessels were swiftly deployed to manage the situation. As the 'RDB Ocean of Joy' approached the narrow entrance of Guanabara Bay on Wednesday morning, it veered off its intended course, making a sudden port turn outside the main shipping channel and eventually stopping near the iconic Sugarloaf rock, a prominent landmark in the city.
