Polish Ferry 'Gryf' Transforms into 'Mert L' for Mediterranean Routes
In an exciting development for the maritime industry, the Polish ropax ferry 'Gryf' has officially exited the Baltic Sea as of spring 2026. Following the arrival of the new vessel 'Jantar Unity' in December 2025, Unity Line made the decision to lay up 'Gryf' in Swinoujscie. The ferry embarked on its new journey on March 16, departing the port and arriving in Skagen by March 21. The ship set sail for the Mediterranean on March 27 and made a brief stop in Istanbul between April 11 and 17. Upon completion of its hiatus, 'Gryf' was rebranded as 'Mert L' and commenced service on April 18, navigating the Contanta to Poti route. This transformation marks a significant milestone for the vessel as it embraces new opportunities in the vibrant Mediterranean maritime landscape.
