Solstad Offshore Secures Significant Contract with Dong Energy for Two Construction Support Vessels
In a strategic move bolstering its position in the renewable energy sector, Norway-based Solstad Offshore has officially signed a contract with Dong Energy Wind Power for the charter of two construction support vessels (CSVs). The first vessel, currently named Rem Installer and set to be rebranded as Normand Jarl, is scheduled to begin operations in February 2017. This initial contract spans a firm duration of 23 months, with a possible extension of an additional 6 months. Furthermore, a second CSV, which will be identified at a later date, is expected to commence its contract on April 1, 2018, for a firm period of 7 months, also with an option for an 8-month extension. This partnership is deemed crucial for Solstad Offshore as it continues to dedicate efforts towards supporting the renewable energy market, although financial specifics of the deal remain undisclosed.
