Working Conditions Aboard the Habco-Pioneer

Search operations are actively underway for the 17 fishermen who disappeared following a tragic boat capsizing incident. This occurred on April 3 at approximately 9:30 a.m., after their boat collided with the bulk carrier 'Habco Pioneer'. As part of the rescue mission, five divers have been deployed to comb the waters in the vicinity of the accident. Meanwhile, a rescue ship operated by an agency successfully evacuated the 15 crew members who were rescued from the scene, located in the Indramayu district. It is reported that the 'Habco Pioneer' has been secured, as its propeller became entangled in a fishing net during the ordeal.

A distressing incident unfolded on April 3, 2021, as the cargo ship 'Habko Pioneer' collided with the fishing vessel 'Barokah Jaya' off the northeastern coast of Jakarta, within the waters of Indramayu Regency in West Java. This unfortunate maritime accident occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m., leading to the sinking of the 'Barokah Jaya'. Out of the 32 crew members aboard, 15 were successfully rescued by the 'Habko Pioneer'. However, a grim situation has arisen with 17 fishermen still unaccounted for. In response to the accident, a Search and Rescue (SAR) operation was promptly initiated following the cargo ship's report to the Cirebon Vessel Traffic Centre. The 'Habko Pioneer' is currently moored at coordinates 05° 37.30' N and 108° 17.14' E as efforts continue to locate the missing individuals.
