In a significant boost to its operations, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) has welcomed a state-of-the-art subsea support vessel, the Hai Yang Shi You 286, into its fleet. Delivered just before the arrival of the new year by the renowned China State Shipbuilding Corporation's Huangpu Wenchong shipyard, this vessel stands out as the highest capacity of its kind in China. The Hai Yang Shi You 286 is engineered for impressive performance, capable of executing subsea operations in ultra-deep waters reaching depths of 3,000 meters. Key features of this cutting-edge vessel include a powerful 400-ton active heave compensated (AHC) Huisman offshore mast crane and a 50-ton AHC Macgregor knuckle boom crane, offering exceptional lifting capabilities. The design incorporates two ROV hangars and a remarkable 2500-ton pipelay reel, thereby enhancing its versatility for various subsea tasks, including saturation diving support. Equipped with Dynamic Positioning (DP-3) technology, the Hai Yang Shi You 286 boasts six engines that power two azimuthing thrusters, four tunnel thrusters, and a retractable thruster, ensuring precise maneuverability and stability during operations. This addition to CNOOC's fleet not only strengthens their operational capacity but also marks a significant advancement in China's offshore marine technology.
