Urgent Medevac Operation Near Bremerhaven: Helen Anna Crew Member Affected
On October 25, 2015, at 8:50 AM, the vessel 'Helen Anna' triggered a critical medical evacuation off the coast of Wangerooge due to a crew member's illness. Following a consultation with Cuxhaven hospital, a medevac was strongly advised. The Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) in Bremen took charge, orchestrating the dispatch of a search and rescue helicopter. This helicopter transported an emergency response team from the Cuxhaven fire brigade directly to the vessel. The team promptly boarded the ship to provide medical assistance, after which the patient was successfully hoisted and transported to Helios Hospital in Cuxhaven for further treatment.
