On December 8, 2025, the ferry 'Herøysund', which operates on the Stokkvågen - Onøy - Sleneset route, encountered significant thruster issues, necessitating its return to Stokkvågen for urgent technical repairs. Efforts to restore service included plans for the ferry 'Sigrid' (IMO: 9030369) to take over operations at 08:05 a.m. on December 9. However, the situation took another turn when the 'Sigrid' developed an electrical malfunction affecting its bow gates. Technicians are en route to address the issue, but in the interim, both A and B routes remain suspended as of December 9, causing further disruption to ferry operations in the area.

On June 1, 2018, the ferry Herøysund experienced technical difficulties that temporarily halted its operations. Boreal, the ferry’s operator, identified the issue but determined that repairs would require several hours, necessitating the vessel's withdrawal from the Søvik - Austbø - Herøy - Brasøy route.
