Although repairs are currently in motion, the team is still working on strategies to prevent future malfunctions, leaving an uncertain timeline for the ferry's full operational status. Due to a significant shortage of available ferries during this peak travel season, an extra vessel could not be employed to manage the increased traffic. Travelers were advised to consider the route via Narvik if they encountered heavy traffic delays. Fortunately, the ferry 'Hinnøy' was cleared to resume service from Lødingen early on the morning of July 16, making its first departure for Bognes at 09:00 a.m.

On July 13 at 10:30 a.m., the 'Hinnøy' ferry, which operates between Lødingen and Bognes, encountered technical issues that necessitated its removal from service. Following the incident, the vessel was docked in Lødingen for repairs and remained inactive as of July 14. The ferry operator, Torghatten, is actively seeking a resolution to the situation. Consequently, all journeys along Route A have been suspended until further notice. The disruption also impacted the bus services, particularly the route from Bodø to Sortland/Narvik. By 1:00 p.m., Reise Nordland issued an update warning passengers of an anticipated delay of approximately one hour for bus line 100, operating from Lødingen to Sortland.
