Hjørundfjord Ferry Halts Service Due to Technical Issues
On the morning of September 20, 2018, the Hjørundfjord ferry encountered technical difficulties, prompting operator Fjord 1 to cancel its scheduled departures from Festøya at 06:55 a.m. and 07:55 a.m., as well as from Solavågen at 07:25 a.m. Following prompt troubleshooting efforts, repairs were successfully completed by 07:55 a.m., allowing the ferry to resume its regular service on the Festøya-Solavågen route.
Electrical System Leak Disables Festøya-Solavågen Ferry Service
On July 2, 2013, the ferry service connecting Festøya and Solavågen was thrown into disarray when crew members encountered difficulties starting the vessel's engine after docking in Festøya overnight.
