On November 16, 2020, the US Coast Guard conducted a life-saving medevac for a captain who experienced a medical emergency aboard the 'Hoegh Galleon' approximately nine miles offshore from Corpus Christi, Texas. The urgency of the situation prompted the watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi to initiate a response after receiving a distress call that the captain had collapsed and lost consciousness.
