Hoegh Jacksonville Docks at Jacksonville Port - A Milestone for U.S. Car Exports
In an exciting development for the maritime industry, Hoegh Autoliners has proudly welcomed its newest vessel, the Hoegh Jacksonville, as it makes its inaugural arrival at the bustling port of Jacksonville, Florida. This port has proudly claimed its title as the largest vehicle exporting hub in the United States, boasting an impressive annual export rate of 630,000 vehicles. The Hoegh Jacksonville, with a gross tonnage of 57,280, represents the first of two newly minted sister ships, each equipped to transport a remarkable 6,500 vehicles. As reported by the American Journal of Transportation based in Plymouth, Massachusetts, this naming honors the port that plays a crucial role in Hoegh Autoliners' operations, which are centered at the Blount Island Marine Terminal in Jaxport. Furthermore, Jacksonville has recently taken on the status of the company’s U.S. headquarters, having shifted from New York last year. Hoegh Autoliners, renowned globally for its vehicle transportation services, operates a fleet of 60 ocean carriers and maintains an extensive network with 20 offices across four regions. Jaxport chairman John Falconetti expressed his enthusiasm, stating, 'Hoegh has become an important part of our community and a vital component of our port business.' This development marks a significant step forward for Jacksonville’s maritime operations and its importance in global trade.
