While sailing from Tanger-Med to Port Elizabeth, the vessel issued an urgent request for medical evacuation for a 54-year-old Filipino crew member, who was experiencing potential cardiovascular issues. Located 59 miles off the coast of Maspalomas, the vessel's dire plea was swiftly addressed by the CCS Las Palmas. Responding promptly, they dispatched the SAR helicopter Helimer 206, which successfully hoisted the ailing crew member and transported him to Dr. Negrín Hospital for immediate medical attention. This incident highlights the importance of quick response in maritime emergencies.

MUMBAI: In a remarkable achievement, Mumbai Port has shattered its previous records by loading and shipping an impressive 6,316 automobiles on a single cargo vessel. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Shipping on Tuesday, highlighting the operational efficiency of the port's new berth, "OCT-2." This recent shipment marks a significant increase from the former record of 5,376 cars. The impressive M.V. HOEGH ST PETERSBERG arrived at the port on August 6, 2016, and set sail on August 9, 2016, carrying a substantial consignment, which included 3,115 vehicles from General Motors and 3,093 cars from Volkswagen, destined primarily for markets in Mexico.

The 'Hoegh St. Petersburg', carrying a crew of 20 Filipinos, arrived at the search area on the evening of March 20. The vessel initiated a light-assisted search throughout the night and continued its visual search at dawn the following day. The ship conducted comprehensive searches over a wide strip of ocean, covering roughly 100 nautical miles, utilizing both binoculars and the naked eye. The 'Hoegh St. Petersburg' was en route from South Africa to Australia while transporting a cargo of cars. Alongside it, other commercial ships and an Australian navy vessel joined the search efforts. Additionally, three Chinese naval ships, accompanied by the icebreaker 'Snow Dragon', were also headed towards the search area. Notably, the 'Snow Dragon' had recently returned to Perth after completing a voyage to Antarctica in January, yet the estimated arrival time for the other vessels remains uncertain.
