Hoegh-Trident Vessel Reviews and Specifications

On November 3, 2016, a heroic medevac operation took place 35 miles south of Key Largo when the US Coast Guard responded to an emergency aboard the Hoegh Trident. At around 2:30 a.m., the vessel's crew alerted the 7th Coast Guard District Command Center regarding a 24-year-old male crewmember who had sustained injuries to his back and leg following a fall on the ship. After assessing the situation, a Coast Guard flight surgeon deemed a medevac necessary. Acting swiftly, the 7th District watchstanders dispatched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from the Coast Guard Air Station Miami. The helicopter arrived on the scene at approximately 4:15 a.m. and successfully hoisted the injured man aboard. Subsequently, he was transferred to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel at Air Station Miami and then transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital for further medical treatment.
