Collision Incident in Kaohsiung: 'Hua Yun' Strikes 'Green Jade'
On July 21, 2023, at 11:05 AM Taiwan Local Time, a notable maritime incident occurred in the port of Kaohsiung when the bulk carrier 'Hua Yun' collided with the stationary offshore installation vessel 'Green Jade' (IMO: 9915038). The mishap took place despite the presence of tug assistance, as 'Hua Yun' unexpectedly made contact with the starboard side of 'Green Jade' using its port side stern during a maneuver. The impact resulted in visible damages to both vessels, including dents and compromised railings above the waterline. Following the collision, the 'Hua Yun' proceeded to dock at the Dalin Refinery, specifically at berth 4.
